Summer Camps!

Time to start thinking about beautiful summer days and exciting summer camps at the library.

This year we are offering two camps. There is limited space, so please call or email the library to sign up.

ROBOTICS CAMP June 26th through 30th, 10 am to 12 pm – The Robots for Kids 2 team is back! Learn to build and program robots and then rule the world bwahahaha! Ages 8-15, sign-up required and space is limited.

LIGHTS! CAMERA ACTION! FILM CAMP July 31st – August 4th, 9 am until 12 pm – Learn about the equipment used to create television programming and create a short program to air on Lake Champlain Access Television. All participants will be taught how to operate a camera, direct a television program and digitally edit their work. Each child will receive a DVD of all of the projects completed during the camp. Ages 10 +. Sign-up required.

Backpack Theater brings their superb skill and energy to South Hero! Tap into your imagination and enjoy a true literary experience with their renditions of Peter Pan and The Three Bears. All Ages.

 

                                                                  

Linocut Prints                                                                                 Friday July 7th at 10am

Make your own Prints with Heidi chamberlain. Linocut is a fun process that begins with carving a design into linoleum and then transferring the design onto paper.

 

 

 

Vermont Wildlife                                                               Tuesday July 11th at 10am

Welcome back the magnificent Michael Clough and his menagerie of wild animals. You’ll get to see and pet cute and cuddly local vermont animals and maybe some not so cute and cuddly animals.  Museum staff will bring furs, skulls and other artifacts for an exploration of our local animal life.  Ages 4 to adult.

Fantastic Physics                                                                Friday July 21st at 10am

Rebecca Rupp is back by popular demand! Who invented the rocket? The parachute? The battery? What about the windmill? We’ll find out – and then do some cool experiments with balloons and electricity, build a catapult, and fire a rocket.Ages 6 to 12.

Build a Better World with Magic                               Tuesday July 25th at 10am

Tom Joyce is back for another year with one of his amazing magic shows! New books and new tricks, all in one exciting event! Always a crowd favorite! Ages 6 and up.

The Beaver – Superb Engineer of Nature                Tuesday August 1st at 9am

Join Mr. K of Exordium to take a up-close look at the Beaver. A variety of artifacts for hands-on examination will allow participants to look at the beaver’s world up close.. Ages 4 to adult.

Henna                                                                                       Tuesday August 8th at 10am

Learn all about the beautiful art of henna, get your own henna tattoo, and take home a henna cone of your own. Ages 4 and up. sign-up required and space is limited.

End of Summer Reading Party                                   Tuesday August 15th at 10am

Mike and the Big Blue Trunk is back for our end of summer reading party! Held outdoors weather permitting with ice cream, lemonade, and balloon animals for everyone! All Ages.
