November Programs

Thursday November 3rd 3:30pm: After School STEM: Potato Head – Did you know the original Potato Head was just parts and you supplied your own potato? We’re getting back to our roots by 3-D printing our own Potato Head parts. 

Saturday November 5th 10am: Patchwork is fun, creative, and reduces waste! Bring fabric scraps from home or use scraps provided. This is a great project for beginners and seasoned sewists alike. Anyone under 10 should have an accompanying adult to help make the scarf. This is a free program. Registration required and space is limited.

Tuesday November 8th 6pm: Library Board of Trustees Meeting – Join us to give your input on library happenings. 

Wednesday November 9th 12pm: Movie Matinee – We’re watching the AFI Top 100 Movies of all Time. This week the film is number 100 – “Yankee Doodle Dandy”

Wednesday November 9th 6pm: Embroidary Basics – Create your own holiday ornament. This is a great program for beginners and exiperenced sewists alike. 

Thursday November 10th 9am: Friends of the Worthen Library Meeting – Join this fantasic group of volunteers to help plan the basket raffle. 

Thursday November 10th 3:30pm: After School STEM: Duck Boat- How many ducks can YOU fit on a boat? Prizes for the best boats out there. 

Wednesday November 16th 12pm: Movie Matinee – We’re watching the AFI Top 100 Movies of all Time. This week the film is number 99 – “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner”
Wednesday November 16th 1pm: Let’s Draw Birds! – Do you love birds?  Do you love to draw?  Come join local artist Aprille Soons Palmer and learn to appreciate our feathered friends even more by capturing their essence on the page.  We will consider perspective and basic anatomy while using photographs as a reference. This free, hour-long class is open to folks of all skill levels. 

Wednesday November 16th 6pm: Cooking the Books – Cookbook Club is back and we’re choosing a recipe form Eric Kim’s “Korean American”. Choose any dish from the book to make and bring the dish in to share with the group. 

Thursday November 17th 3:30pm: After School STEM: Foosball – Make your own foosball game to take home. 

Saturday November 19th 10am: Write-In: November is National Novel Writing month! Writers are invited to write – together! We’ll be writing in the community room with snacks provided. 

Wednesday November 23rd 12pm: Movie Matinee – We’re watching the AFI Top 100 Movies of all Time. This week the film is number 98 – “Unforgiven”

Thursday and Friday November 24 & 25: Library will be closed for Thanksgiving. Have a happy holiday!
