Author Talk

Debut author Nadean Stone will discuss her memoir “No Stone Unturned: A Remarkable Journey to Identity” at Worthen Library on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 6:00 pm.

As heard on WCAX’s July 22 broadcast, Nadean‘s book is about the 44 year search for her birth parents and the role that DNA served in her quest.

“No Stone Unturned” a strong character driven memoir of a child presented with numerous exceptionally challenging life experiences. Nadean battled an aggressive form of cancer, experienced a harrowing escape from a Caribbean island, and suffered great losses that would break many a spirit. Yet as one reviewer noted “She soldiers on with unfailing courage.”

Nadean wrote No Stone Unturned: A Remarkable Journey To Identity with the intention of inspiring readers to find faith, hope and the courage to persevere against daunting personal challenges. She was born in Blind River ON, Canada, graduated from Windsor University with a BA and McMaster University with an MBA. She is a former NBC Booker and Celebrity Producer for a weekday one hour talk show in Miramar, FL.

Destination Imagination!

Worthen Library is looking for volunteers to help manage our amazing destination imagination teams. Last year our team “3rd Grade Gigglers” won 3rd place in the state tournament, we had an great time and everyone (myself included) learned a lot.

This year the library would like to host two teams Elementary Level and Middle Level and we need volunteers to manage the teams. DI meets once a week after school for an hour October through the to the tournament in March. Here is the website for more info:

This was a really special experience for both managers and kids and we’re excited to offer more opportunities to participate this year!

Please contact Keagan at the library if you’re interested or have any questions.
