Something amazing is happening in South Hero! Several years ago, Dr. Ed Worthen inspired us by leaving the majority of his estate to start the funding for a new South Hero Library. Now, thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of so many people in our community, the library is becoming a reality.
In honor of Ed and in recognition that our community is supported by the big-heartedness of individuals, the Library Board of Trustees has named the new facility The Worthen Library. Recently, board members took a tour of the new facility at #260 Route 2 in South Hero. Everyone was wowed by the beauty and brightness of the new building. It will be a wonderful place for Islanders of all ages to hang out.
Pictured to the left of the new banner are Board members Elissa Giroux, Sandy Gregg and Library Director Keagan Calkins, and to the right of the banner is Board member Ken Kowalewitz and Architect, David Roy. Be sure to join us for the Grand Opening this summer. For more information visit www.SouthHeroLibrary.org.
